Want Terrifying TV? Netflix Is Your Best Bet.
No costume parties, no trick-or-treating... no problem! While quarantine measures continue in states across the country, there’s one Halloween tradition that Americans can still safely celebrate: watching spooky shows and movies at home. And while plenty of streaming services are promoting their horror content this October, one provider stands head and shoulders above the rest.
Netflix’s content library features some of the most popular horror TV shows ever made, from unforgettable classics like The Twilight Zone and Twin Peaks to smash-hit originals like Stranger Things and The Haunting of Hill House. We took a look at our list of The Best Horror TV Series, which features nearly 25,000 votes from over 2,000 voters. Of the Top 20 shows on that list, more than half are currently available to stream on Netflix.

That goes not just for horror shows overall, but for newer TV shows, as well. Our list of The Best New Horror TV Shows of the Last Few Years is limited to shows that premiered in 2017 or later. Of the Top 20 on that list, nine are available on Netflix — more than any other streaming service. The service that comes closest to that number, Hulu, is streaming only three of these 20 shows.
