Ranker Summer ‘25 Activation: REWIND: A VHS Revival At The Orange County Fair And The Art Of Music At The Indiana State Fair
For the third summer in a row, Ranker can be found at the OC Fair... this time with REWIND: A VHS Revival. 400,000 fair-goers so far have experienced an immersive tribute to the VHS era, celebrating the bold movie poster art that defined a generation of pop culture. Featuring AOM's collection of large-scale, hand-painted art originally created by Art & Sign Productions and displayed at video stores from the '80's through the early 2000s — the exhibit brings back the unforgettable visuals of cult classics and blockbuster hits.
The Art of Music Experience that the OC Fair hosted last summer has hit the road and landed at the Indiana State Fair, where it continues to inspire people to discover the stories & creators behind album cover art. The event also features large-scale, hand-painted album covers, displays and neon from The Art of Music Collection, themed educational exhibits, live painting, a record store pop-up, and fan activations. According to the event creators, “album cover art has long been acknowledged as an important part of the culture of music, but unlike the music, the art has rarely enjoyed its own time in the spotlight.”
We here at Ranker couldn’t agree more, which is why we’ve long kept a poll going on both The Most Unforgettable Movie Posters Of All Time and The Greatest Album Covers Of All Time, and decided to bring them to life at both fairs, where the public is invited to choose their top 10 favorite album covers and rank them on our massive leaderboard in Indiana; and then their top 10 favorite movie posters in Orange County. To say things get heated would be an understatement—covers at both fairs are shifting, opinions are shouted, but a great time is being had by all!
According to Joy Feuer, AOMA Founder/Curator, the Ranker activation is consistently one of the most popular parts of the entire AOMA experience. Take a look at the footage and see it for yourself:
