The snowy, dystopian sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer is finally coming to TNT on Sunday, May 17. Based on the 2013 movie by Bong Joon-Ho, a household name after his film Parasite took home best picture at the Oscars this year, the show tells the story of a society that is forced to live on a constantly moving train after freezing temperatures make the outside world uninhabitable. Snowpiercer stars Academy Award-winning actor Jennifer Connelly, as well as Daveed Diggs, the Broadway star and rapper who first rose to fame playing Thomas Jefferson in Hamilton.

We’re betting that millions will be tuning in on Sunday to watch this timely story about everyday people forced to stay indoors to survive a global catastrophe — and we’ve got the data to prove it. We used our Ranker Insights and Watchworthy tools to learn more about the people most likely to love Snowpiercer, including fans of the original movie, those who love Jennifer Connelly, and regular viewers of TNT programming. Here are the fans we think will be watching Snowpiercer:

We found that fans of the original movie seem to have found Snowpiercer relatable, because they’re very likely to live somewhere cold. The regions where this movie is most popular among Ranker readers are the Northeast and the Midwest. Excluding Alaska and North Dakota, these neighboring regions are home to the coldest climates in the country.

Getting down to the state level, Snowpiercer is the #9 film on our list of Best Dystopian/Near Future Movies among voters in Michigan, and it’s #19 in Pennsylvania. That’s no small feat, as it’s a highly competitive list with 161 movies and 8,500 voters. It was also voted the #1 movie of 2014 by voters in New Hampshire, and cracked the Top 10 in Ohio at #8. Though it may sound silly, the data supports the idea that people who are used to freezing temperatures are more likely to love the original Snowpiercer, and therefore, more likely to watch the TNT spinoff.

When it comes to taste in TV, Snowpiercer fans are drawn to dark and cynical science fiction. They’re more likely to list Black Mirror and Rick and Morty as some of the Best Shows Currently On The Air than any other shows on that list. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t fans of bright and sunny optimism, as they’re 9X more likely than the average voter to vote up Parks and Recreation on our list of Best Shows to Binge Watch. Finally, Snowpiercer fans are most likely to name The Sopranos as the #1 Best Show of the Last 20 Years — in fact, they’re 4X more likely to vote for that show than for other highly competitive shows like The Wire or Breaking Bad.

Fans of Jennifer Connelly

There’s no shortage of fans of Jennifer Connelly, who won an Oscar for her role in A Beautiful Mind. But she’s most beloved in the South, where a whopping 75% of voters view her positively. She’s similarly well-liked on the West Coast, where 68% of voters approve of her. She’s considered the #3 Best Actress in Film History by Ranker voters in Georgia, and she’s #6 with Virginia voters.

Those who love Connelly have similar taste in television to fans of the original Snowpiercer movie, as they’re 5X more likely to love both The Sopranos and the 90s sci-fi hit Battlestar Galactica. They’re also 4X more likely to love American Horror Story, the WWII miniseries Band of Brothers, and of course, The Office. If you’re a fan of these shows, you’ll likely want to check out Connelly in a performance that critics are already calling “magnificent.”

Fans of TNT Shows

We plugged the most popular items on our list of the Best Current TNT Shows — which includes Animal Kingdom, Supernatural, Claws, Grimm, and I Am the Night — into our Watchworthy algorithm. Here’s what we found about the TV tastes of those who are fans of all these series — reliable viewers of TNT. If these shows appeal to you, there’s a good chance you’ll also love the dramas on TNT, including Snowpiercer.
