Set on a parallel Earth within the Arrowverse, Stargirl is more than just a simple story about a high school girl with superpowers. Starring Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl, the series manages to create a family-friendly story that has captivated fans of the DC universe, as well as critics.
This addition to the CW family of DC Comics series is directed toward teen girls and their families — it’s a feel-good sci-fi series about a high school student who transforms into a superhero after discovering a powerful artifact. Also starring Luke Wilson, Yvette Monreal, Amy Smart, and Anjelika Washington, the show follows a new generation of young heroes as they dole out beatings to bad guys, evildoers, and the occasional math test.
Stargirl boasts an 89% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and critics and fans love the way the show blends themes of friendship and family with the action and adventure of a superhero series.
