Our choice in canine companion says a lot about us — the dogs we choose reflect our personalities, our aesthetic tastes, and even our physical appearances. But according to Ranker data, the relationship between humans and their favorite dogs goes even further than that. Ranker’s list of The Very Best Dog Breeds has been voted on by over 27,000 dog lovers, and we’ve found that people who voted for different breeds also tended to vote for different celebrities on a host of other highly popular lists. In other words, your favorite dog breed could help us predict which actors, comedians, and public figures you love most.

To celebrate National Pet Day, we’re going through the list of America’s top breeds and telling you which celebrities they vote for most on Ranker. And just for fun, we’ve included some information about the pets each of these celebrities call their own.
